Hi everyone! Just curious if anyone has heard any news about when they are leaving for ODS and first duty station. For those that have recently graduated and gone to ODS, how long from graduation until you left for ODS? Just getting anxious and wanting ANY news!

no I was in nursing school while i applied for NCP

Oh ok....I would like to apply for NCP in 2014...Im currently in nursing school working on my associates degree (will graduate in August 2013)....I plan on applying for my BSN in 2014...Do you think it will be too late for me to apply for a spot in the 2015 class if I submit the kit in 2014?....I know I have a while before I'm ready but I just would like to know what I need to do so that I can plan accordingly....Thanks for responding to the post so quickly :)

I really cant answer that question your recruiter would have to tell you if it will be accepted or put through with you not even having or being accepted to a BSN program i doubt it i think it would be best you apply when you are in a BSN program

ok...thank you...i will do that...and good luck to you!

no problem... and thank you good luck to you also

Hello All-

I am finishing up classes in December and graduating in January (school process). I just received my tentative placement (San Diego) from LCDR Gomez and just wanted to know if anyones changed when they actually received their orders.

Any new grads out there who are already working? How is the adjustment so far?

How was ODS?

Any insight would be helpful. As I am getting closer to finishing up school there are so many questions flooding my mind.

Hi there, good luck with the end of classes! And with coming into the Navy!

I have a lot of information about the first couple months of active duty here:

I'm in the exact same boat. Graduate December, NCLEX January (or as soon as I can), ODS February or March (LCDR Gomez says most likely March), and San Diego "tentatively" after that. I was also curious about the word tentative. San Diego was my top choice, and I would hate to get the rug pulled out from under me now that I have it in my mind where I am going. Obviously I will be happy to go wherever they send me and not controlling my destination is the nature of the beast. I am curious also, though, if anybody previous NCPer's "tentative" orders changed.

On a more personal note, my name is Will, and I live in Louisiana. Looking forward to getting in the Navy and starting my post-college life. It'd be nice to actually have talked to someone before we all go to ODS.

Let me know if you want to talk before heading to ODS! Happy to pay it forward.

Hi,

For those who graduated last spring, how has the first 6-8 months been? I would love to hear about how it has been at some of the smaller hospitals. Did they have some form of new grad program or did you work with a preceptor?

Thanks!

For those graduating this Spring, have any of you received any information regarding orders and ODS?

HM2Doc - I got the email to contact our detailer today and actually spoke to him today as well. Tentatively set to go to SD which I am very happy with! How about you?
