Hello! I am a fairly new nurse, just at a year of experience on a Cardio-Thoracic Step Down Unit. I am interested in relocating to South Fulton Medical Center, since it is SO much closer to home. I was wondering if anyone has any contact information for Human Resources or a nurse recruiter there? I feel like when I apply online my application gets lost in the shuffle!

Thanks, any information is appreciated!

The Best thing to do is go into Human Resouces. They may give you the run, "apply online", but you never know who you'll run into. Also they have Open Houses all the time. I'm a New RN, in the Versant Program, and I just happened to go to a New Grad Open House and was hired. Little did I know that it was invitation only. So you never know who you'll talk to. If you are only looking to work there for Location, talk to people to see if you think you'd like it. I'm not going to complain on this forum, I'm grateful to have a job as a new grad. Good Luck!

Did you start the New Grad program? How do you like it? I've heard some negative things about the hospital, what do you think so far? TIA for any help

I finished the program in July of this year. The overall setup of the program is very good. You attend classes and work on the floor every week. The major problem I found was the instructor finding someone to precept. The older/experienced nurses didn't want to precept. So, previous versant RNs like myself end up training. The hospital is old school, still paper charting, equipment is old, and low on resources. Either way, I have a full time position, I learn something new everyday and some of the staff makes it worthwhile. Outside of patient care, it's a decent place to start as a new RN.

:nurse: Well the upside is since South Fulton and North Fulton are Tenet facilities after a reasonable amount of time (versant obligation must be complete) you can transfer between states or facilities.

I am interested in working at South Fulton after I graduate in May. I was told that the next Versant residency class begins on May 14th. I graduate on May 11th. Is this too late? Do you have to pass the NCLEX before the start date? This will more than likely be cutting it too close. Does anyone know when they will have another class? Thanks for the info.
