Northeast Georgia Medical Center Help

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

I am going to attend the NGCSU nursing program starting this August. I received a letter from Northeast Georgia Health Systems offering me a yearly scholarship from $2,500 to $4,500, but if I accept I will have a service obligation to them for one year for each year I accept the grant.

Does anyone know about this hospital and if it is a good place to work? I don't want to obligate myself to a low-quality hospital.

Thanks!

This in my opinion is a wonderful hospital. I did a year of clinicals here and I start working there as soon as my license number is issued (any day now). I am driving 45 min to work there because I liked it so much. It is ranked very high in the nation for hospitals in excellence. I have never talked to anyone in my research that did not enjoy working there and in a year of clinicals I learned alot of how things work all in all in my opinion wonderful hospital.

Specializes in Did the job hop, now in MS. Not Bad!!!!!.

Can't help it, gonna quote ya. B/c I just sent you a PM. And you are very generous in your starting figure, but that's ok. Most of Atlanta pays $20-22 to start; then you can add on differentials.

I was thinking about going here

any advice? what was ur GPA and TEAS/NET scores like?

is it very hard to get in?

Thanks for all of your help everyone.

Regarding your question shameka, I have a previous bachelors degree going in, and I transferred all of my credits with a 4.0 GPA in my pre-req sciences. I believe I got a 92 cumm. on the TEAS. You don't take the NET for NGCSU.

However, I heard some of my classmates talking amongst themselves about getting a C in A & P and B's, so I know that you don't need my scores to get in.

I also got into GPC but turned it down. I would suggest avoiding that program completely.

NGCSU is a highly regarded school and a good program. I like it so far.

Good luck!

thanks for the speedy reply its funny u mentioned gpc because I am already a student there and I was going to apply in jan when their deadline is I dont think I can match that 4.0 but it is good to know that people are getting in with C's

me personaly I dont want a C but just in case its good to know some students that are accepted have them. I 'm kinda having a hard decision I dont want to wait until 09 to start I wanted to be finishing then but I dont want to rush things because I'm just now taking A&P 1 and alot of deadlines are in jan 08 should I wait and get good grades like yours or just try my luck and see what happens? In your opinion was the teas difficult or is it just basic information that you probably would just need to brush up on to pass with a 90

I would suggest taking and completing as many pre-reqs as possible and work hard to get all A's prior to applying. I complete all pre-reqs before appyling. Also, if you finish your pre-reqs prior to nursing school, you don't have to take them while you are in nursing school so you can have more time to study for nursing courses. The higher your scores and the more classes you take will increase the probabilty for you to get in.

As for the TEAS, I thought it was easy but you might want to brush up on the skills needed by purchasing the study guide located here:http://www.atitesting.com/onlinestore/productpage.aspx?code=61&isproduct=1

Don't rush it if you can. Try to get as prepared as possible and it will pay off in the end.

Sure we can stay in touch. Just send me a PM at any time :)

I am not sure yet, but I think that I may go into critical care b/c I enjoy fast paced environments.
