Herzing University-Atlanta...new BSN Program

U.S.A. Georgia

Has anyone heard anything about Herzing University's Nursing Program.....particularly here in Atlanta? I know they have one in Florida and Winsconsin.

I dont know but I took the teas 5 already and I got a 77.

Hey yall!! Glad some folks started to reply to the thread! LOL. I was accepted to Bauder's LPN program.....not what I was looking to do since I ultimately want to become a Nurse Practitioner. LPN would only slow me down right now...( just speaking from my own personal goals). Bauder does have and Associates degree program, which was what I was looking to apply to but the classes are all full until next year. I'm not a real big fan of their whole application process, but that's probably because it's so new. I was able to research and find out some details about Herzing if yall are interested.:twocents:

yea i beleive there is a morning session, when i spoke to someone i was signed up for the morning, i will double check tomorow, maybe it isnt on the website bc it is full? and i beleive all of the pre-reqs are in the program so none needed to apply. I too am tired/cannot afford taking pre-req after pre-req, i dont get financial aid since i have a bachelors. i started pre-reqs in 09! only thing stopping me from starting/getting into a program is the daggone pre-reqs. they list the classes that would be taking i the program so you can view and possibly see what transfers. i may only need about 2-3 classes off the general education list which hopefully will cut down my length of time. But if you think about it 36 for a BSN program with pre-reqs already included is the same as spending all the time taking pre-reqs (year worht) then entering a 2 yr program. at this point i dont care about the tuition cost as long as a can have a BSN and be able to get a job. i need my career to start, so frustrated....sorry vent over lol

wow! lol....I feel ya aggravation, I'm in the same boat as you! I have a bachelors as well....so ready to get this over and done with

Yeah I took the TEAS Version 5 also, and I got a 78..but I am planning to retake it once more I think.

@ Phrozenone: I would like to know any information that you found out, that would be great thank you!

@ HopefulNurse2011: I know how you feel too!! I have been taking pre reqs since 09' as well and every program is different so its soo frustrating!!!! But if we can do the few pre reqs we have left while we are also doing acutal nursing coursework then that wouldnt be bad! And since this is a new program that not many people know about, we will probably have a better chance of getting in! Where else are you applying?

Nowhere else right now bc i have anat 2 to takee and now my microbiology is about to expire  so i would have to apply somewhere thats can have outstanding credits and hopefully finish them next semester bc i couldnt take them this semester. so right now only bauder and hopefully herzing bc its better for my situation.

Alrighty....so far what I was able to find out (only from the website) is that the program is 9 semeters, BSN, they accept about 30 plus students. Looks like it is due to start in January, they require the TEAS. All of the pre-req's are biult in the program, there is no wait list. I did notice that it is a little pricey, but at this point, that really doesn't matter that much to me, it is what it is lol. They are listed on the GA Board of Nursing as being in the process of gaining their accreditation, which is expected since they are new. I did contact the NLNAC to confirm their registration with them, they are not quite set up with them as of yet, but that doesn't mean that it's not in the process of being done. I think that a majority of questions that I wanna ask will be answered today at the information session. Hope this helps.

Herzing is NLNAC accreditation at some of their other campuses. If you look on the website and search under accreditation it shows them.

ok cool, I was looking for the Atlanta location. As long as they are accredited at other locations, that is perfectly fine.

I just looked them up....they are listed at their main campus in Madison, WI. Thanks for the info jonesgeo

looks like i'll be there tonight at 6pm, the 11am was for the 18th which apparently i mixed up.:clown: so maybe i will see you all tonight!

yay! I'll be there:yeah:
