HELP (again:-)

Anyone have any knowledge....of advice on how I may apply ....GET A JOB WITH

ATLANTA GEORGIA'S VA MEDICAL CENTER???

I AM IN DESPERATE NEED FOR A 1ST POSITION AS A RN (LICENSED EARLIER THIS YEAR) AND

LEARNED EVER SO GRACIOUSLY ON ALLNURSES THAT IF YOU COME LICENSED FROM

ANOTHER STATE....."YOU DON'T HAVE TO RECEIVE AN ENDORSEMENT FROM THAT STATE!??"

THE THREAD INDICATED THAT I MAY SIMPLY>>> WORK FOR ANY VA HOSPITAL (BY THE GRACE OF GOD IF I CAN

GET A JOB) WITHOUT AN ENDORSEMENT! MY FAMILY IS IN DIRE NEED OF "ANY INCOME AT ALL!!!"

I WILL GO ANYWHERE THAT IS WILLING TO TRAIN ME AS A NEW NURSE (I REALLY NEED TO LEARN THO'... NOT BE LOOKED OVER!)

I HAVEN'T RECEIVED MY ENDORSEMENT HERE IN GEORGIA YET (LOTS OF RED TAPE) BUT NEED TO GET ON WITH THE VA IF POSSIBLE

OR ANYWHERE:crying2:

VA HELP ANYONE?

Yes, you can work for the VA, or any federal employer, with a valid license from any US state, not necessarily the state in which the facility is actually physically located. You can find information about openings at the Atlanta VA hospital on USAJOBS - The Federal Government's Official Jobs Site, or you can simply contact the hospital directly. However, be aware that the VA hiring process is extremely slow, and there is typically a lot of competition for VA nursing jobs these days, since the VA is one of the last few remaining good healthcare employers in the US. :)

Best wishes!

Thank you sooooo much for that information

i don't know how... Will try the phone book for their contact information

that's an amazing guideline for them to set

i wonder if they have any new hire gigs at all? I would even go to california, new orleans, anywhere with that in mind

just praying for a job

Hi, I know this post is old but was wondering if you can tell me where to go to read this information about only needing a valid US state license to work for the VA. I've a friend who mentioned this to me also, but couldn't tell me where I could see concrete evidence regarding this. This is great info. but I NEED TO SEE/READ this in writing for myself. Can you provide the resource for this information?? Thanks in advance.:)

Here is a link specifically for a job at the the VA hospital in Atlanta/Decatur where it states both in the title that New Graduates may apply as well as under the qualifications it indicates you need only have a license from one of the 50 states (or additional territory, etc.) The VA Careers website is probably THE place you want to look at for nursing jobs at a VA facility, as it lists them ALL.
