HELP!

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

My dad is in the Army and will be moving to Atlanta summer 2010. I am currently in college taking pre-nursing classes. I want to apply to schools in Georgia, preferably Atlanta, but I have never lived in Georgia and know nothing about the different programs there or even what schools offer programs. Are there any public schools (or even private) in or close to Atlanta that have a BSN program? Are there any hospitals that have their own BSN programs?

I know all nursing schools are competitive, but any stats on admissions (like average gpa) would be greatly appreciated.

For BSN programs in the Atlanta area Georgia State University has a program (it's in the heart of Atlanta) Georgia Baptist School of nursing is a private college that is a part of Mercer that's located in atlanta, Emory University is a private school that offers a BSN program in Atlanta, Clayton State University offers a BSN and they're located about 15 minutes outside of Atlanta. Clayton State and Georgia State are both State schools. I hope this helps. That's all that I could think of off of the top of my head. Good Luck to you and welcome to Atlanta!:yeah:

Yes..that helped a lot! Thanks so much!

Here's a link to a listing of all the nursing schools in Georgia, including the Atlanta area. It also breaks down the schools by whether they offer an ADN or BSN program. Good luck!

This link is the GA Board of Nursing list of approved programs and shows you who offers which degrees. http://sos.georgia.gov/plb/rn/RN_School%20Directory.pdf

I'm at NGCSU, which is about an hour north of Atlanta and would recommend Georgia State U, which is right downtown and has a lot of options or Emory or Mercer if you don't mind the expense. The students from Emory and Mercer are so very invested in their education and so enthusiastic. Good luck!
