Emory BSN Fall 2012

Hello everyone!

I applied to Emory's Traditional (4-year) BSN program 2 weeks a go and thought it may be helpful to start up a forum.

If you are:

currently applying or plan on applying, a former applicant, a current Emory student, I'd love to hear from you!

Has everyone finished their perquisites? Does anyone else have a not so competitive GPA (like me)? Does anyone know who is considered a competitive applicant? Where is everyone else applying?

I look forward to speaking with everyone and hopefully entering the Fall '12 class together!

I completely forgot about Emory. I won't be applying to any schools until for 2013 start date. So the end of this year I'll try Emory along with my current school GSU. It doesn't look as competitive as Georgia State and I thought it would be. They don't have an accelerated program? Or a program to finish in less than 2 years. I actually have most of the pre-reqs from my general ed classes such as English Psych etc.

Do you know if you have to have all pre-reqs completed by the time you apply or by when you enter the program?

Oh nevermind I do see the BSN accerlated option for 15 months.

Wait...lol it's for those who hold a degree already.

Yep, the accelerated program requires you to hold a BS or BA degree before getting into the program.

I'm a little late seeing this, but would you mind sharing your stats kitkats? I currently have a 3.65 and I'm worried that I will have a difficult time getting in with that GPA.

Thanks for getting back to me! I tried to send a reply through PM, but I didn't realize I don't have enough posts to do that yet.

Where did you get most of your volunteer hours from? I have a lot of random hours from soup kitchens, nursing homes, and building houses, but very few from volunteering at hospitals. I have a full-time job on top of a full courseload in school, so I'm trying to be smart about where I spend my time volunteering from now on.
