DUI ten years ago......Is there anyone who will hire me in GA?

I am an experienced Emergency RN. Since losing my job in Jan, I have been unsuccessful in my attempts to find another one. I am coming up against background checks, and when I am honest about it, I just don't even get the courtesy of a "decline to hire". I am a good nurse, and need to work. I am so frustrated withi all the brick walls I keep running into. I made a mistake once by driving after drinking at a dinner party. Not something I do all the time and haven't done since. Any suggestions are welcome.

I can't imagine a 10 year old DUI shutting you out of a job. You need to find out what is in the background check, and what your previous employers are saying. I don't know how you do this, but I guess I would start with a very frank phone call to HR in the places where you were turned down. Tell them you are having a great degree of difficulty and you respect their need to keep certain information confidential but can they please give you some honest feedback about their hiring decision? Why did you lose your job in January?
