Darton College Nursing Students Reviews

U.S.A. Georgia

Hello Darton College students. I am going for round three again with my nursing application. Have anyone heard anything about the average GPA's and Hesi Scores!?

@success88....were you accepted for summer semester at Darton? My daughter is trying her best to get in. Her GPA is around 3.7 and she scored 79 on the HESI, but she was denied admission for summer semester in nursing. She is completing her last prereqs/core classes this semester and only has nursing left. She is going for her second try in July on the HESI and applying again. This is getting very frustrating for her and I am just wondering what is going on with Darton since it wasn't this way 30 years ago when I was a student.

Geez.3.7 and 79 on HESI sounds pretty good. That's scary. :( I hope she doesn't give up though. I have to take the HESI some time in May, and I'm really nervous.

For those of you who have taken HESI, do you mind telling me how many questions are on there? And how many are anatomy?

I just took the HESI last Friday. The math and English parts were both really easy to me, but the anatomy was a lot more detailed than I expected. I took A&P I and II almost four years ago, so I should have studied a lot more. I ended up with a 68 in the anatomy section, but got 90s and above in the math and English sections. My overall score was an 85 point something. I'm not sure what all they look at in admissions, but I expect that I will be applying again next semester! The HESI questions were not terribly hard, but the format made it harder to me. Since the test was all on computer, you couldn't go back once you submitted a question. You also had to use the computer calculator, and mine kept freezing up! Good luck!

So for the math part, did it have a lot of roman numerals and memorizing conversions? I'm bad at that stuff! But yea I have a feeling that I'm going to have to retake for next semester too. I just wanted to get a feel of what the test would be like so I know what to expect next time. So I may be seeing you next semester! I'm just really worried about the anatomy part. I have been studying but I don't feel like I'm studying hard enough...(its hard to study with kids around!) Anyway, good luck on everything!! And thanks for giving me heads up on some things!

I didn't have any roman numerals on mine, but it had a lot of conversions. Grams to kilograms, ounces to gallons, pints, cups, quarts...that kind of thing. I also had a lot of ratios, converting decimals to fractions and multiplying and dividing fractions. Know the directional terms and body planes for anatomy. Also, know the hormones, where they're secreted from and what they actually do. I glanced over anatomy, but it was way more in depth than I thought it would be. It was also the first section, but if I take it again, I would like to start with one of the easier ones if the computer allows you to do that.

Thanks for the advice. I take my test tomorrow so I'm a little nervous! When do the scores usually get posted? How many questions were on the anatomy part? That part is like my MAIN concern. I haven't taken anatomy for a semester now and I'm already going crazy so I couldn't imagine taking the HESI with anatomy from four years ago. Anyway, I think I'll have to look forward to applying for the Spring 2012...maybe I'll start studying earlier lol

well I took the HESI today and got an overall score of 88.23%. I got an 84% on the anatomy part which I will accept because I haven't taken my A&PII course yet. Now I'm nervous for the letters to be sent out!

My daughter took her HESI yesterday. Her overall score was 84% class average was 77% she got 72 in A&P class average was 67. Her GPA is 3.4. She has only nursing classes left. She did not make acceptance in the Spring 2011 class so I am hoping and praying they let her in this time since her current GPA and HESI score is the exact same as someone who did get in the Spring 2011 class.

Do you mind me asking what she made on her Spring 2011 HESI? This was my first time taking the HESI and I really don't want to have to stress about it again! So I'm hoping and praying that I get accepted. Good luck to her as well! I think she has a chance because my class average today was 78% and A&P was 68%. And she also has all of her core done so that is a great advantage! Good luck!

Overall she made 79% with 67 on A&P.

Hey guys, got my Acceptance letter today!!!!!!

Congratulations!!! Which location did you apply to?
