Brenau University Part-time BSN Spring 2012

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

I just received my acceptance letter to Georgia's one and only part-time BSN program at Brenau University! I'm excited to be able to finally plan for nursing school and would like to see if any of my future classmates are on here. I think it would be great to be able to keep each other informed and help get ready. Other than visiting the campus once to take the Kaplan exam, I don't know anything about the staff, schedule, etc., but I'd love to find out!

Hi!! I also got my acceptance letter for Part time Spring 2012!! I am just waiting to receive the orientation and registration information. Have you paid your 150$ fee to hold your spot?

Congrats ladies :)

I was also accepted to the Part-Time BSN program for Spring 2012!! :yeah: Yayy!!!

I mailed my deposit out today so I'm looking forward to getting some more info (I am SO anxious :)

Hi KelleyAnne!

I've mailed my deposit, but haven't heard a response. I plan to call in a few days if I don't get a receipt or a package to confirm my confirmation (lol!). I'll let y'all know if/when I hear anything new.

Thanks for the congrats! ... but, I'm a dude :coollook:... Honest assumption for nursing at a women's college!

I am SO sorry! You know what happens when we ASSUME? :/ haha

Well Congrats dude :) (your official congrats) lol

Are ya'll planning on getting the Patho book and studying up until classes begin? I was told that you should really know the first five chapters before stepping one foot into the class!

I'm definitely going to go ahead and invest in the book in the next month or so!

Also, if ya'll want to get a heads up on some things, go ahead and gather your shot records. That is one of the first things they ask for and I know sometimes it may be hard to get those.

My friend who is currently in the program said that you will get a packet that will have multipe things for you to do. I'm guessing that they mail the packets out after the 30th when all of the deposits should be in :D

I thought that I wouldn't be quite as anxious after I got my letter of acceptance BUT I'm actually more anxious now that we're playing the waiting game to actually start classes :) I am taking 4 classes this fall though so after classes start next week I'm SURE I won't have as much time to sit and think about it :) lol

I am planning on mailing out my deposit today. Hoping to receive more information soon!! Very excited !! KellyAnne, that is a great idea to purchase the book ahead and review it.. I should definelty look into doing that.. Hopefully when we receive our packets it will have more information about books and supplies we need. I am not taking any classes this semester so I can probably study the patho in the mean time! congrats kellyanne and keepcliming!! :yeah:

Thannks Hlee! :)

The patho class is said to be a really tough class (one of the most tough of the program.) So if the info for that book isn't in our packet, I'm going to email Mr. Daughtery and get the book info for sure!

Have you spoken with your advisor yet?!

Also, are you rolling two liberal education courses into the program? I know there were two classes that they said you can pretty much ONLY take at Brenau (two health classes I think)

And another thing I'm confused about is the Spanish classes. I was told we needed Spanish one AND two but my friend that's in the program now has only taken Spanish one. Do you know anything about that? :/

I'm feeling it too... "sitting on GO" as they say! That's good advice about the patho. I've been listening to a free university patho class that's really good and interesting: http://faculty.css.edu/gcizadlo/Patho2004/index.htm. I have a "patho made easy" book that I've been perusing as well. It helps take the edge off the anxiety. I've found that the first chapters are basically A&P plus what happens when things go wrong.

Shot records? Oh my! That's gonna be a treasure hunt for me... Last time I needed that was the first time I attended a university in 1990 (yikes!).

Well, I've just got one class this fall (and full-time work), so I'll have plenty of time to get a jump on learning this stuff.

Hey KellyAnne I think if you take elementary spanish you need both one and two but if you take intermediate level you only need one. This is my understanding you should confirm if it is true. I think I will have to take two liberal education courses at Brenau I forgot which though. I just finished my Spanish requirments this summer.

The ones that are starred are considered Liberal Education credits too. Maybe that's what they were talking about?

I already took Med Term, but I'm not sure they'll accept it. I hope so... BORING class. I'm taking Statistics this fall...

Thanks!! :)

That sounds right! I'm registered for elementary spanish starting next week so I guess I will probably have to take the second one over the Summer next year.

KeepClimbing: Where did you find the book to help with Patho?! I guess I could just check half.com. They usually have those types of books.

If orientation is the same as last year, it will be in December! So we will all officially meet then :)

Can't wait to get this show on the road!!

Oh and KeepClimbing...

I'm pretty sure Med term is online for only half of the semester.

So at least if you do have to retake it, it won't be TOO bad :)
