Brenau spring 2013 applicants

U.S.A. Georgia

Hi! I just wanted to start a thread for people that applied for the brenau full time nursing program that starts in the spring of 2013. I submitted my app, & now I'm hoping to get an offer!

I already registered to take pathophysiology next spring and Spanish 2.. Just wanted to see if there are any other applicants for brenau out there?(-:

Yes, I took the Kaplan at brenau. I have all my general ed requirements completed apart from Spanish 2 so I'm taking that and patho in the spring. Did you take patho at brenau?

I think it is a good idea that you are taking it with only one other class. That is smart. The more time you have to study patho the better. Maybe over xmas break take a look back at your anatomy notes especially cardiovascular, nervous system, renal, inflammation, etc. Also a good book to have that is fun to read and have on hand is "Pathophysiology Made Incredibly Easy". Youtube is a great aid too! It shows a lot of surgeries and you can search for diseases that are tough to remember or that you want to understand further. And of course the professors that teach patho are wonderful! Yes, I took it at Brenau.

So here's my application status... I spoke to the secretary this morning and she said she had no record of my application! After a lot of searching at my house I couldn't find the copy I had, but the secretary called me back and let me know she found it! It apparently got lost in the shuffle, so it has yet to be reviewed:-(

The director of the nursing program won't be back in until tomorrow, so hopefully she can review my application and let me know if I'm accepted or not, or if there is even any spots left..

That is awful! I hope that isn't any indication of how the program will be!

The mix-up was sorted out and I'm excited to say I'm accepted!! :)

I look forward to meeting you all!

Is anyone nervous at all? I am wondering how busy or time consuming it will be. We have 5 semesters to learn the job of a nurse. I feel excited but at the same time like I need to take a big deep breath because I wont be able to come up for air for quite some time! What do you guys think? How are you feeling or wondering!?

Thanks everyone!

Yes I'm nervous! I'm taking patho right now and just looking through that book makes me wonder how ill be able to retain all the nursing info in 5 semesters... Does anyone happen to know the sequence of courses we take?..

I keep telling myself that thousands of people have survived nursing school before me, so I will too.. Hopefully ?

It sure will be a lot of information. Lots of studying and committing ourselves to school! I am not sure which classes we will be taking in Summer. Maybe we will find this out on Thursday?

I was able to come to the open house yesterday.. If you guys did, could you please share me some important information? Thanks so much
