2nd degree programs

U.S.A. Georgia

I will be graduating with an undergraduate degree in psychology this December or next May. I still have to complete many of the prereqs for nursing, but am planning on doing so at Macon State (I am currently at Mercer and it's very expensive!) I am wondering if nursing schools in ga look at the undergraduate transcripts for the gpa or if they will look at the last 30 hours of coursework, which will mostly be my coursework at Macon State. My gpa at Mercer is not terrible, it is just not as high as I would like it to be, and I think I can get a really good gpa at Macon State while taking my prereqs. I hope to eventually get into GSU...Can anyone help??

If you're a post bac student most nursing programs only look at your required sciences. They count these as your gpa. A&p 1&2, chem, micro, statistics, and some others. I'm sure you will do well, just see if you can get into a program.

GSU has a group of classes they look to form your program GPA these include math, english, etc. U need to look under the accelerated program on their webpage to see exactly what they use.

Specializes in Endoscopy/MICU/SICU.

Yep, above posters are right. They look only at your program GPA. Here are the classes that they consider your program GPA:

So, they won't look at any of your psych courses, except psych 1101 and abnormal psych. There are two classes that you have to take at GSU. Good luck!
