it was awesome!!!! Our class is divided into three groups and I was fortunate enough to get our regular instructor, who is very knowledgeable and eager to teach us. The first day we learned trach suctioning and cleaning and a were shown a LOT of other things. Yesterday we were partnered and assigned patients to care for the whole day. By observing other pairs' patients we were taught wound care, additional suctioning techniques, etc.

I feel like I'm going to learn soooo much! I've learned more than I can write here in just two days and the patients we are caring for have COPD, Renal failure, Congestive Heart Failure, MRSA, Coronary Artery Disease, Multiple Myeloma (sp?), etc. Very exciting stuff (not the illnesses, the clinicals).

Sounds like you are off to an adventuresome start! Absorb as much as you possibly can and be willing to try new procedures. Most of all have FUN!!

Thanks KimRN03 :kiss Our instructor told us that clinicals are what we make them, and that we can learn as much or as little as we want...I think I'll go with the first option.
