That often happens...

My question to you is...is this your first semester in college? Oftentimes there are prereqs for AP and Chem which consist of the Basic Biology and usually Intermediate algebra (for Chem). Have you taken these classes already? If not, you may look there and see if there are any openings.

It's good anyway to get your gen ed prereqs out of the way because they will have to be done eventually anyway! Better luck next semester! :)

I had something similar happen to me. I was already taking prerequisites P/T at one school, and applied to another school within the system (CUNYs in NYC) because I inteded to go for the BSN program. I attempted to register for Developmental Psychology and the class was full before I could even register. I gave up trying to go to that school because I have heard so many similar stories from others.

I'm starting my last prereq. (Microbiology) at the end of this month and hope to get into an accelerated program this summer.

Schools are flooded with people wanting to take these courses. It sounds like it will be easier for you next semester, so at least you're getting 3 things out of the way now :)

I started school back in Sept, and was orginally going to become a teacher because I thought I couldnt handle those science courses that come with nursing. Much to my surprise, I flew threw the much dreaded algebra. SO I thought, if I can do algebra, and make an A I might add,,I can do science! So this semester I decieded to go for nursing, which meant changing some of the classes I had registered for back in Nov. I was really upset because there was no A&P and we have to have A&P 1 and 2 before we even apply for the nursing program. SO anyways, I just kept looking and checking to see if anyone dropped it. I checked every day for 2 weeks, and then the saturday before school started, there was an opening in one of the online classes which was perfect.

So,,,keep checking to find out if anyone drops it the first week..That way you can slide up in there real quick!!

Some classes here book up really fast. For instance, there's only one CNA class in the summer and everyone who enters the nursing program that fall and isn't yet certified has to take it. I was warned by my advisor that I may want to camp out in front of the registration office at 6:30 AM in order to secure a spot in that class.
