Trying to get in and start in January

  1. Hi everyone,
This is my first time on this message board. I first became interested in Medicine particularly Emergency Medicine after on three occasions paramedics and nurses saved my life. I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in French. I also have a year of Biology and Chemistry courses. I am 22 and feel that I can change my career view to something that is more meaningful that Human Resources-which is incidentally where I was heading. But i don't want to start from scratch. i did some research and the one program in Florida that offers an accelerated program (Barry University) is $30,000.00 I did not by the way consider incidentals. so HELP and suggestions would be appreciated...if anyone can help. The best scenario would be if you know a program that starts in January.
    Thanks MUch

First of all, let me offer a big welcome to you!
Now...I think you are going to have to do some searching for what you want exactly. You sound very determined to do it one certain way, so that's going to take some time.
As far as starting from the bottom, if you have all of these other classes done, how can you be starting from the bottom? Other people probably would still have to take those classes, and you would have them done!
Either way, my dear, you will have to start at the beginning of a nursing program, so why not just start?
I wish I knew of something more to help you out, but this advice is all I can offer.
Best of luck to you and in all you do!

I have a BA too...most of the accelerated BSN programs are gonna run you anywhere betw $20k-$30k+++. I wanted to go this route, but I ended up going to a community college. The plan is to get my BSN at my employers expense once I graduate.

    Good luck.
