Trauma in the ER

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone else is addicted to TLC's "Trauma in the ER" or shows like it. I can't get enough and my friends all think that I am sick.

Did you guys see the last episode where a man had fallen off his ladder while working outside and fell onto a bush? Well the unlucky fella fell right onto a 4" branch that went right thru his rectum up into his abdominal cavity. It stopped at his diaphragm just missing his heart. Not only that but it missed just about every organ in his body!!! I think it ruptured his bladder but other than that he was ok!!

Man...no more ladders for me.:)

Ouch!!!....I love that channel (but not a fan of the show) and Discovery, and sometimes Discovery Health. I love all of those forensic shows and history shows. I also love Maternity Ward, but can't stand A Baby Story.

Hello All,

Yes I saw the "spruce goose" episode your describing. That guy was very lucky he didn't damage any vital organs.

I drive my wife nuts between TLC, Discovery, Discovery Health, etc. She sticks with my through most of the medical stuff. She ditches at the first signs of a crime/forensics show though!

Addicted? I plead guilty your honor. :)

Just the thought of that branch gives me the shivers. I do like maternity ward, but a baby story doesn't do it for me.

I am so addicted to trauma that it is one of the reasons I decided to get into nursing! Anyone see the one with the steak knife in the guys head?

I saw both the tree-up-the-a$$ one and the steak-knife-in-the-head one. Crazy! I love all those shows.

Specializes in urgent care, GYN, primary care.

I love those shows. I don't know if I could do trauma nursing, but it's soooo cool to see people live through things like a knife in the head or wood up your interior...

My favorite day is Mondays, when we have Paramedics (Discovery Health) and then Trauma, Life in the ER...
