Hello,

I am currently taking prerequisites for nursing school. I'm a little worried about my chances of getting in. A little background info about myself I have a bachelor's in early childhood education. My cumulative gpa is a 3.189. I did very poorly my first two years and dropped 5 classes. I dropped two chemistry courses and general biology. Right now I have chemistry, a and p 1, microbiology, ethics, lifespan and development completed all with A's. I still need a and p 2, nutrition, algebra, and statistics to complete next spring. I take the hesi in late December and the teas in March.

My question is if I keep up the same grades I've been having do you think I'll have trouble getting in anywhere? Also if you have suggestions on any Texas schools that might accept me that would be great.

Have you looked at Online University | Online Degree Programs | WGU prelicensure program? Depending on where you are in TX, you might find it is just what you need.

This is a good website (the BON website) to view different nursing schools both community colleges and universities. I would compare a few by name and NCLEX scores and then do a bit of research on what classes you'd need, GPA, TEAS/HESI scores, location of school, price, etc. I attached the list I'm talking about. It was super helpful to me. Good Luck on your search!

Oh, and most of the schools have an explanation of what you really need to be accepted into the program located on their website, and not just the minimum requirements (at least mine did.)
