If you are a US citizen, why would you go to India to study nursing unless you wish to practice there? Will you be practicing there?

I believe that you will find that there is a certain amount of paperwork involved, if you graduate from a foreign program and then seek licensure in the USA, even if you are a US citizen. Suzanne4, Silverdragon are good resources here. You might also wish to contact the board of nursing of the state in which you will practice. Otherwise, you may get an unpleasant surprise when you return to the USA.

As a note, may I respectfully encourage you to use proper English when posting. "Texting" English/no punctuation/no capitals tend to make your post difficult to understand. Many of us make grammatical/spelling errors and I am sure there are several in my post . It is very difficult to read and understand your post with the way it has been written. And it really would not go over well with a BON or a nursing school.

If going to train overseas you need to make sure that your training will meet US requirements. You will always be classed as a foreign trained nurse and have to meet the BON requirements. Most require some form of evaluation of your transcripts and takes approx 4-12 months depending on the BON/BRN you apply to most take on average 4-6 months before you will be given permission to sit NCLEX. Even if you go abroad for most there are International fees to pay and student visa to get. I would say may be easier to get your training sorted in the country you plan on working i.e. the US

I understand what you guys are trying to tell me but I can't seems to makeup my mind tht nursing is the thing I wanna do in my life. I mean I want to and my parents want me to do it aswell. If I do go out of country its gonna take me 4 years to do my nursing n I also now its gonna take me 6 or even more months to sit in nclax exam. But is it worth studying over there or study here. Because I heard if u wanna be RN its all private which makes u wanna take to much loan. And if u do it at govt place there are long waiting lists.

Shop around in the US and do your training. If you are thinking about moving to another country to do your training I am sure you could find something within the US. If you are having doubts about doing the job why not get a job like CNA and see if it is something you want to do. Maybe volunteer at your local hospital, something that will get you working in the hospital to give you an idea if it is what you want to do.
