stressed...need advice

Hi All,

I'm in school...taking 2 classes and have A's in both classes. But I was only working part time and I couldn't afford to work part time so I was actively searching for a full time job. I just found that full time job and the training is for 2 weeks and it's screwing me all up. The week I started (this past week) I had 2 tests and I also have another test on Tuesday. I took 1 test and was planning on taking the other test today but work ran over and I am so stressed because I have not had time to study for this test and I will have to miss a class on Monday just to take it and not get a 0 on it. I was planning on taking it today after work. I HATE to miss a class...I have not missed a class all semester. This sucks so bad. The test I have to take on Tuesday is for lab and I HAVE to get an A on that test (I have a 4.0 and I want to keep it) but this test that I have to take on Monday (so far we have taken 2 tests and I got A's on those tests) I have not been able to study for because of the training for this job. In this particular class we are allowed to drop our lowest test grade. Should I be freaking out and stressing because I'm sure this will be my lowest test grade and I will be able to drop it. I'll be fine once the training for this job is over (next week is the last week for training). But it just P***ES me off that my grade may suffer. These classes are just prereqs. but I MUST work full time until I get into the program and I want a 4.0 because last semester there was 600 applicants and only 110 spots. I'm trying to just forget about the stupid test so I can try to salvage my A's for the remainder of the semester but I'm just so upset I can't focus. Please give your opinion.

Thank you,

Amy

I would try to study for your exam as much as possible and not sweat it too much. Just make sure you know the material even after the test so you can continue to make A's and just let this be your drop grade.

I can sympathize with you on the stress factor. I've had a very rough semester so far and freaked out, but I'm doing OK! I just do my best and see what happens. So far, so good!

Don't stress over things you cannot control. Just dig in and do the best you can, time will pass and shortly you'll be on the other side of this. Sorry, that may not make you feel better, but it works for me.

I don't know what your expenses are like so this suggestion may be out of the realm of reality. Can you work part time, go to school full time and get a combination of student and private loans and maybe a scholarship to get you through? That's my plan but I realize that's not practical for a lot of people.
