Signs of previous STDs?

Hello,

I am in my final term of nursing school, and we are working on a project related to human trafficking in the sex industry. We are supposed to come up with scenarios for others to go through, and see if they can recognize the victims of sex trafficking.

One of the things we want to try to present is a history of STDs. We would like to do this without being too obvious.

So my question is what are signs of past STDs, perhaps labs (antibodies?), scars, infertility? Maybe traces of antibiotics in their system from a recent infection?

Also, what physical signs might one find from an illegal abortion, as far as an emergency dept nurse would see (not so much on a full OB/GYN inspection).

Thanks!

I would probably start at the CDC website- they've got an extensive section on STDs including signs and symptoms and long term consequences. Good luck.

The CDC website has info more geared toward the patient/layperson than the clinician. I am hoping to find signs that would be identifiable in a clinical setting.
