Sharing objectives?

Ok, tell me how you would feel about this? I usually share my objectives with a couple of the girls in class. I do mine, but they like that I type mine out and how I lay them out so they do their own, but have asked me if they could use them to cross reference with their own. I know there is a big group of girls that split the objectives up as well. Well today I get to class and I am telling you at least 7 if not 10 or more had a copy of my objectives. People sitting at my table had my objectives and I don't even think they even realized they were mine, but I knew they were mine. Would this bother you? I am feeling really petty about this. So I don't think it should bother me, but it has. I just feel like I have 5 kids and can do the work and I am staying up till 2am to do the work why should I be doing all the work for them? I suppose I should just not worry about it because I have good grades and the people that aren't doing their own objectives are not doing very well.

It would be hard not to feel "petty" about this--but like you said, you are doing well, they are not. Would you stop doing the objectives to keep them from getting them? I didn't think so. Be proud of the great job you are doing, and forget about the rest!

I would quit sharing with them. Unless they are a part of a study group with me and divide them up with me, they ain't gonna see 'em! That would make me mad if some slacker was just copying notes off of someone else, off of mine! If they can't do their own work, they aren't gonna get a free ride off of me! JMHO. I'm not riding on someone else's coattails through nursing school! And what about when these people get out? Are they going to copy stuff off of people they work with? I don't think so! :(

It would bother me some--especially if they didn't do their own. I'd put my name on the original, so at least anyone who gets a copy would know who it was that was on top of things.

nope--cause they won't graduate!

I think I understood from the original post that these people aren't people that were given the notes originally--but had obtained a copy from someone who had a copy ......

I am not sure you can control who gets them once you let someone (anyone) see or copy them.

If your objectives help someone else, even if they are slacker, then you should be proud. I believe in sharing any form of learning or studing skills that I find useful with anyone who is honestly interested in doing the very best they can do. Your intelligence and hard work may/may not be recognized by the slackers, but you have the knowledge and pride in knowing that their achievments are a direct reflection of you. And who knows, maybe with the right tools they can leave their slacker roles behind and start taking charge of their own objectives.
