San Diego National University Nursing Students! What is the class schedule like?

Nursing Students School Programs

From what I understand from the Nursing Information meeting is that you meet once a week for the lecture at the Rancho Bernardo campus and twice a week for clinical at a Hospital that is near where you live. Is that true? I have been to information meetings before and sometimes what they say in the meetings isn't really the reality of things and I just want to be sure. And also if you can, how was or is your experience with the program and what are some tips for prospective students? Thank you!

I would love to know this as well! Anyone?

Well, no it's not quite that simple. The schedule is all over the place. Sometimes there are lectures 3 days a week and on Saturdays. There are no guarantees about your clinical rotations being close to your house at all. You need to be flexible. They over-exaggerate how much free time you will have, but it also depends on the student's level. What more would you like to know? I'll try to answer as many questions as I can for you.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question! Is the schedule different from week to week or is it pretty regular through out the semester? And what would you have like to known before starting the program? Again thank you so much!

Well, first off there are no semesters, only quarter units, so that means that every month there is a new class. I love the format because I can focus hard on one subject and move on to the next, and not have to study for more than one class at a time. I knew a lot going into the program because I did my research and I went to NUSNA workshops, so I got to bombard older cohorts with questions. I guess I would have liked to have known more about the professors and who to avoid, pickings are slim in that regard. The question is what do YOU want to know because I asked the right questions before the cohort started so I knew what to expect. What cohort are you in/applied to?
