Recovering from a bad exam grade!

Nursing Students General Students

I could use a little pep talk here! I have done very well since starting nursing school in the fall, and actually going back to my prerequisites . . . all my final grades have been As. This semester was my best yet, but as of the last exam I took, there was a ton of bad stuff going on in my personal life (drama!) which really took a toll on me. I had a lot of depression, anxiety, and stress. As a result, I didn't put in the study time I usually do, and I got a C on the exam. I know a C isn't a tragedy, but it has put my final grade in jeopardy. I feel like I've worked too hard so far to NOT get that A in the class. I need a 96 on the next exam to bring it back up, although there is one more exam and the final after that. But I really need to re-focus and put in all the extra study time that I can.

Has anyone else recovered from a bad exam and gotten their grade back up? Looking for success stories to encourage me!

Thanks for reading!

Don't sweat one grade! You sound like an awesome student. I've been going crazy with my prereqs making sure I get A's. Now that I'm starting nursing school I'm going to just do the best I can. Don't beat yourself up. If you focus too much on numbers you will drive yourself crazy. (maybe have added test anxiety) Good luck

Hello,

I agree with misserella...no need to sweat one grade. My first midterm in Chemistry I got a 55%...and I'm generally a straight A student. But I ended up finishing the course with an A, so it can be done...keep your chin up!!
