Hi Everyone,

I am taking the NET in 2 weeks, does anyone who has taken it have any advice?

Is there anything I should be concentrating on while studying, I have been working on the math, long division, turning fractions to %'s, algebra, etc.

Any tips for the reading comprehension?

Thanks! Starting to get a little nervous over here! :)

There is a test book for the Net you can order online. I don't remember the company. It has two timed practice exams and a gives a good understanding of how to study. The Net exam I took was laid out exactly as the pre-tests in the book. The only thing I can suggest if you don't get the study guide

is practice doing your questions on a timed basis. There will be 60 math questions in 60 minutes and the reading will be 60 questions in 60- mins.

Hope this helps.

I am going to give you some good advise. I took this test a couple of weeks ago and almost failed. The test is timed and for fear I would run out of time, I was putting in answers that made no sense. So the next time, Im going to write down the time I start each part so I will know exactly how much time I have left. Also get plenty of scratch paper, they gave me 2 pieces for 60 math questions and I had to erase before I could work the next problems. Wasted a bunch of time there. The math part was adding, subtracting, multiplying, division of whole numbers fractions, decimals and percents. There was alot of 80 is what percent of 500 questions. Only two simple algebra questions. The math test is fixed so that if you dont know how to convert back and forth between , decimals and percents or proper and improper fractions .. you are in trouble. The reading part just made me angry... But know main idea and theme . Mine did not have grammer questions. It is all timed ,and you may not think that is a big deal ..but it can put you under pressure. It took me about 3.5 hours to take ,so eat and pee before you go. I wish you luck and hope some of this helps .....:)

I took the NET this past Saturday, and told myself I wouldn't discuss it or go on this board until I received my results. Life is so strange, I just woke from a dream. I won't go into details about the dream, but it was about being positive and forgiveness (that's a subject in itself so let's stick with the NET :) )

The reading comp. part of the test consist of 33 questions and you're allowed 30 minutes to complete it. The first paragraph is actually time for one minute, this is your reading rate. The math part is 60 question which are to be completed in 60 minutes....the math part is EXACTLY like the study guide that you may purchase at http://www.eriworld.com The reading part is very close but the passages are longer. You do however need to understand what the main idea, purpose, theme, and inference is for the paragraphs. I took form D of the test.

I hope this helps a little. Please think positive and everything will go just fine. Good Luck!!!!!

Thanks for the input everyone!

I do have the study guide from http://www.eriworld.com, I don't normally like study guides, they don't usually help, but this one sounds pretty close to the test!

I bought it months ago thinking I would review it over winter break! haha! Then last week I got a letter from the school I applied to that I will be taking the NET in 2 wks!! Crazy!! But that's ok! I will be glued to that book for the next 2 wks, that's for sure!!

Good luck to everyone has taken it, I hope your results were good, and good luck to everyone who still has to take it! You will all do great!

Can't wait to be a nurse!!! :)
