Check with the department of health for the state you live in. You can also check with area hospitals for programs they may offer for tuition expenses. You can also try a search on the interent to see what comes up.

Good luck!!

You could also check with the school where you will be attending in the Financial Aid office. Usually, someone has a book that has a whole bunch of information on scholarships. When I started looking for money for school when I searched the internet I came up with a whole lot of companies that for a fee will tell you all about what they have so be careful when searching on the web. Johnson and Johnson also has scholarships for people going into nursing, might look there for info. If you are going to actually be in a nursing program, you might check with the particular nursing program (this is only if it is through a Community College). You might also check your local chapter of ANA and other nursing organizations. They might have something too.

Good Luck

Most schools also have a "general scholarship fund". Check with financial aid office. At the school I attended they had me fill out an app for this fund. I was quite surprised when I recieved $250, especially since my grades are not that great.

Check with your local hospital. I was just awarded a $2000 scholarship from my local hospital. It took me about 45 minutes to complete the application along with a letter of introduction, and I had to provide three letters of recommendation. This scholarship will pay for all next year - I was so happy! Good luck finding some available funds. I am not eligible for financial aid either, so I was glad to find something that was merit based.

Check the net. There are a TON of scholarships and grants out there. Tylenol is currently offering one. I know that I'm applying for it. I try to apply for a bunch each year. I got all my schooling completely paid for with grants. It's usually very easy....like writing a 100 word essay.

Also check out Johnson and Johnson's website. They have a massive amount of info for scholarships.
