Hi everyone,
If you read my last post I am putting together a resume and cover letter for a Direct Care Giver / Developmental Care Specialist job at a Facility/Group Home for Mentally Retarded and/or physically handicapped adults and children.
I am going to try to write up a Functional Resume instead of a Chronological one. Basically, you take 2-4 qualities that would be important for a person to have for that position and illustrate how you have used/attained those qualities during your employment.
If you have some ideas of what "qualities" a direct care worker should have please let me know.
I was thinking "Organization" would be a big one, expecially if you are working with many residents. "Caring" is also important but I'm not very sure how I would illustrate that.
If you can think of others please let me know.
Thanks,
Col

I'd choose the word "Responsive" instead of "Caring." To respond to a need implies more than just a feeling.
