Hi, I'm going to be taking my pre-reqs with portage online. Wanted to know if anyone has ever, and your experience with them? Also with testing would you need to find a proctor or how do they administer test? Thank you, any help is welcome :-)

I did my A&P through Portage. There are tests after each chapter and a test after each lab video. It was very simple. I didn't particularly care for it, but I also had a pretty extensive background before taking it.

Hi thank you so much for your response, when you took the test did they have you take it at a school or is it virtual with someone watching, the reason why I ask is because i don't live somewhere its easy to get a proctor.

It's all online. Their wasn't even a virtual proctor.

Did anyone take a Statistics threw them? How was it? Any info on it?

I took A&P I and II, microbiology and developmental psychology through Portage. The tests are at the end of each module and are timed (1 hour). You then get a final exam timed 3 hours. Unless you are really studying the material and carefully reading the information the tests would be very difficult. I found I learned the information and retained it with good study practices. For the lab portion you watch a video and I literally copied the material word for word in a notebook to study and review. Don't try to speed through these courses as you will need this information throughout your nursing journey! I thought it was a great alternative to the classroom, especially if you have kids such as myself! Good Luck!!!

How long did it take you to go through the class on Portage?

I need to take Microbiology and only have 6 weeks to do so.

It only took about 4 weeks.. you will have enough time as long as you pace yourself!

Hi Jchanis15, did you ever take the statistics course? If so, how was it? How long did it take?

Thank you

Hi, how was the micro for you? Were you able to complete it in 6 weeks?

Thanks

Hi there.. I am a little hesitant and i have read that you took micro at portage. How did that really go in terms of difficulty. I don't want to regret signing up. How were your exams compared with the information given to you. My aim is to get an A so im gearing up and collecting info.

Hi I got an A and I did it in 6-7 weeks. I didn't find it to be difficult but you need to take notes on the lectures and labs. I 100% encourage you to take it. The professor responded right away whenever I had a question and I actually found the labs to be quite interesting. I love that you can go at your own pace, too. I truly don't think you'll regret it. I hope all goes well!
