Perhaps it is time to re-evaluate. Why I am gravitating to Catholic universities.

For years I resented my Catholic upbringing. Community college has done wonders for me, but I find myself gravitating towards Catholic universities for continuing my education. Its strange my life has been an odd one.

Of my list of nearly a dozen nursing schools 3 are state schools, one community college program LPN, and ADN, but nearly half a dozen are Catholic university BSN programs that I find myself drawn to.

I went to Catholic grammar school, and high school. For years I protested my upbringing I suppose I resented my father who demanded I be raised Catholic. Now I find my top two target schools are Catholic universities, and at least 4 more are Catholic.

They seem like a good fit for me, and they now have my transcripts. I have received an excellent reception from all the schools I want to go to, but I find I have my heart set on two Catholic universities.

Its strange, but I just want to be given an opportunity, and I feel like these schools are my best outlet for that opportunity despite the expense, and I find them immensely preferable to for profit universities of which only one is on my list.

I went to a Jesuit school for both RN and NP programs (and I am not Catholic). Religion never seemed to play into anything we were taught. If you think a Catholic school is a good fit for you, then go for it. Make sure the program fits your needs, but do not disregard expense. High debt can affect your life for years.

I have a personal bias against for-profit schools. I think they are looked down upon by employers, but I could be wrong. It wouldn't be the right choice for me, but we're not talking about me....;)

Yes I am trying to avoid debt, and I am not very religious. Some of the Catholic universities impress me however. One in particular.

Rolling start, most align with my courses taken. Not because they are necessarily better
