Pcc vs San Diego Mesa college

Hello!

After being reluctant to go to a cc I've finally decided on going to Pasadena city college until I was told of San Diego Mesa college.

I'm highly considering sd because I want to have that college experience where as if I were to go to Pcc I would have to live at home.

San Diego Mesa doesn't have nursing but does it matter because I'm going to transfer to uci anyways?

For Pcc I got to their pathways program which guarantees me my classes.

I don't know about Mesa though.

I just want to make the most out of it if I'm going to a cc and I want to transfer smoothly.

Does PCC have a deal with UCI as a feeder school, where you have preference? If not, it really doesn't matter where you do your prereqs. Guaranteed classes is really nice, especially with how impacted nursing prereqs tend to be.

Are you guaranteed admission to UCI? Is there a particular reason you *know* you will attend there, or is that just the only place you plan to apply? In general, putting all of your eggs into one basket is a HUGE risk.

I attended Mesa years ago for a year for some general ed (before I planned to go into nursing), and I had a good experience overall.

Pcc and uci are in the tag program which is transfer admission guarantee.

I believe I would have to apply for that later. And I want to go to uci for their nursing program

Do you know if I can get guaranteed classes at Mesa? If not how difficult is it to get classes?

I attended 10+ years ago, so I can't really offer any current info on classes, and I as I never took prereqs there, I also can't speak to how impacted they are. I know at the school where I did take them, they fill up within hours of opening.

Talk to PCC and/or UCI and get the details of exactly how the TAG program works. Best to make informed decisions! :)

Thank you for your time! (:
