For my LPN program, you choose 39 hours out of 77 or so.
For Example:
Core Technical Concentration AREA VI: CHOOSE 39 CREDITS
Introduction to Pharmacology 1 3 Body Structure and Function 4 4 Health Assessment 1 3
Maternal and Child Nursing 5 7 Psychosocial Nursing 3 5 Adult/Child Nurisng 8 14
Adult Nursing 8 14
Role Transition for the Practical Nurse 3 5 Fundamentals of Nursing 6 12 Human Anatomy & Physiology I* 4 5 Human Anatomy & Physiology II* 4 5
This 1st number is the area, second number is credit hours.
I've already completed A&P 1 & 2, so now I have 29 hours left that I'd like to break into two semesters. It seems odd to pick and choose what classes you would like to take and completely skip on others.
Is this not so unusual???

It seems odd that some of those classes are optional, like A&P and Pharm.

You don't need ALL of those to grad? Sounds like you need to see your advisor for this one! Get a good balance of everything or you wont be prepared a well. GL!

Totally agree..... you would think they would require atleast half a semester of classes like this! A&P is a whole year for me (Anat. pre-req then Phys. in the prog.)
