I have a lifespan psychology teacher...and I think she's nuts. All of our tests are take home and multiple choice - open note, open book, open person tests. AWESOME...you might think, but wait..... She said her tests are very tricky. She said that sometimes none of the choices are correct and it is our responsibility to put that as an answer on the test, and if we give the correct answer we get extra credit. She also said that sometimes several of the choices could be correct for each question - but she doesn't have a choice like: d) all of the above or a and b are correct (for example). This just doesn't make sense to me. Why even teach if your going to try and trick the students?

On the first day of class she told us that she also teaches at another college and sometimes she might be a half hour late or so. Also if she has a hard time finding a parking space she'll be late. She never did show up to class this past Monday. You might think that I'm overreacting, but good grief, I'm paying over $1,000 for this class. The least she can do is show up and not try to trick/fail us. What do you all think??? I used to think this psyc. class would be one of my easy classes - now I think it's going to end up being harder than A&P!!!

Oh...also for the months of October and November we'll have a test every week. Talk about not having a life.

Thanks for letting me vent!!!

I feel ya ... I had a sociology prof that was definitely nuts. After a few weeks I started zoning out and thinking up nursing diagnoses for her many various neuroses rather than listen to her ranting. :chuckle

As far as your tests, in my experience people like this often get a charge out of debate and any expression of intellectual thinking for its own sake, even if it serves no purpose. So you may be able to get away with just about anything for test answers, if you're willing to argue your point. Unnecessary and pointless, but if this is the way she is, you're probably not going to have any luck with getting her to see the light and use her class time more productively.

Count down the weeks until it's over ...
