Meeting with the nurse manager?

I'm currently an RN student and I finish my program next week! I am in my preceptorship right now on a unit I would LOVE to work on. I have 4 more shifts left until I am finished.

As I was in the locker room changing yesterday morning to go home, another nurse asked about what I wanted to do once I graduated and where I wanted to work. I told her I actually was praying I could get in on their floor! She suggested writing a thank you letter to the nurse manager, which I had planned to do, but to also stay late one morning to catch the nurse manager when she comes in and personally hand her the letter and briefly speak to her.

Heres my thing, what in the world do I wear? It's the l&d unit and they wear street clothes in and change into surgical scrubs there. I haven't been dressing up, per say, since I go in at night, but should I maybe bring something along with me that's professional? Maybe similar to what I'd wear in an interview? Or should I just stay in their scrubs and change after meeting her?

Also any tips you might have, let me have them! Haha! I'm so completely nervous. My dream job is on this unit and in this specific hospital. I'm so very lucky that my school approved my preceptorship for this as well. My preceptor has been amazing and I've learned SO much from her so far. I've experienced so many things that have made me realize that this is where I really need to be!

I just met with 2 nurse managers yesterday (also in my final semester), and it was recommended that I wear business casual. I'm glad I did because I really left feeling like I had just had my first interview. I spoke with one for around 30 minutes and the other for only about 5, but I was definitely being evaluated during the discussion. Good luck! I hope you get it!

I would bring something nice to change into. Nothing too dressy, but more professional than scrubs you've worn all night.

Good luck and congrats on making it this far!
