Life Balance during nursing school

How is the work-life balance in nursing school? Is it possible to balance the intense school work with personal life and possibly work? I am just curious because I recently got accepted in my school's nursing program.

There are 6 billion people (last time I checked) in this world, which means there are 6 billion opinions. What I am saying is, your situation is not unique and many people have managed to go through nursing school, working full-time, and raising kids. However, there are people who do not work, are single, and still struggle to keep up with the rigor of the nursing school. You know yourself better than anybody else in this universe. Think of your strengths as a learner and then ask yourself: can you manage to work and school while still juggling family events? If you think you can do so, then here is your answer :)

Yes but you have to go into it with the mindset that you CAN succeed no matter what. The biggest thing is time management. I literally plan my entire day down to when I'll sleep.... I work two jobs totally 45-60 hours per week, have a police officer husband who works long, crazy hours, and I have 4 kids between 2-8 years old PLUS a full course load at school. It can be done but you HAVE to prioritize and plan!

Wow, Amber has me beat! I got married and had a baby 12 months later -- both during my program, worked part time as a CNA, and was active in music ministry at church. I also met my mom/sister/friends for lunch, and joined my Danish-American farm family for my Grandma's big Sunday dinner.

It's about time management -- a skill you will need in your future nursing practice!
