and wondering if anyone has any helpful tips for me. I bought the microbiology coloring book. Does it help?

I'm kind of nervous about this class. I really want to do well. I need to get the highest grades possible for when I apply to nursing school in January.

Any advise would be helpful!

(By the way, I'm new)!

Welcome to the board!!!!

My best advice to you would be to read and reread. Don't get behind on your reading, and you will do just fine. Charts worked really well for me. I would list the differences between procaryotes, and eucaryotes, etc. Also, in the lab, lists work really well too. List the different types of tests, and what each one means. Charts were my friend. Some of my class mates made flash cards so they could study anywhere. I made flash cards for the final.

Microbiology has so far been my favorite class. I made sure that I made enough time to review my notes and the chapter on a regular basis, and I made an A.

Good luck to you, you'll do great!!!!!!

I also took Microbiology in the summer over 6 or 8 weeks (I forget) in 1992. But it was A LOT to study in a short period. I agree with subec, especially about keeping up on your reading and not falling behind. (One side note-- With all the organisms we studied crammed into such a short period of time, I had a lot of creepy dreams during those weeks, teeming with all kinds of bugs and germs and crawly things... (((shudder))) Good luck to you, abby27, and hope you have a great teacher and enjoy Micro as much as I did!
