Apparently it's sponsored by our school's graduating nursing class of 2004, on behalf of one of their classmates, who died. I tried googling the local paper to get more information on this woman's death, but couldn't find anything.
Anyway, it's open to all incoming, first-year nursing students. I've got a 1-in-30 chance of getting it, which is a heck of a lot better odds than any of the other scholarships or grants I applied for!

Congrats to you on the scholarship chance! Every little bit helps! I applied for one here in TX, a Texas Organization of ADN scholarship....they gave away only 3 in the state, I was thinking, yeah right....but I actually got one!! So don't think it won't happen....it just might!! Congrats & good luck in school!

I managed to get one from the Medical Society here in town. I thought I didn't have a chance because there were sooooo many applicants and I thought they'd give it to the younger applicants. You never know. It paid for nearly 1/2 of each semester in the last year.
