Good job Steph! I'm moving on to my 3rd semester with my PSych round. Comes with happiness and saddness. Im happy Im moving on, but lost my best freind after the final because she didn't recieve her 75%. She is vewry upset about it. It stinks because I know she would have been a great nurse. She knew her stuff, however has severe test anxiety and didnt get to finish her exam in the time alotted. Had she been able to, I would have no doubt she would continue with me. I advised her to take a continuing education course to help her with her anxiety and to come back next year.

Way to go!!! I am right behind you -- 4 more weeks. Do you get to do any preceptership at the hospital this summer?

med/surg will be over for you in a few weeks, all the best on your final exam!
we will do our psych rotation this summer at a va hospital. i too will be taking advanced pharm.
my preceptorship comes with my 5th semester.
val, what are you taking this summer?
They only offer a preceptership (optional) for summer. You work (no pay) 12 hour days and are paired with a nurse in the hospital and actually work their scheduled shifts and hours. Apparently, we pretty much do everything under the direct nurses supervision except IV push.
I haven't yet decided if I want to do it or not, because I was wanting to take a break from school!
the experience would be great, moreover, i understand the need to take a rest.
unlike yourself, we have summer rotation.
i am interested in knowing if you decide to do it and how it goes too.
They cut the summer classes d/t funding. They were basically courses you could take during the regular term and taken by people who failed in order that they could graduate with their class.
The dean fought for us to be able to keep the preceptership and they managed to salvage it. This will be my only opportunity for it and I really do want to get the experience. Then the other part of me says "fool, take the summer off! it isn't as if you won't get a job after you graduate if you don't do this!"
