I've been pretty happy with the ones we have to use at my school. The are Nursing Diagnosis Handbook by Ackley and then Johnson NOC and McCloskey NIC.

They are all coded and work really well together. If you don't need the outcomes and interventions then Ackley should do it, or atleast it did it for me. I could not believe how things had changed since I was in school doing care plans 13 years ago.:D

I've used Carpenito's since I started school and I never really liked it very much. I bought Mosby's Nursing Care Plans book at the beginning of the semester and really like it. I used it for a critical care rotation and a peds rotation- it had everything I needed for both without having to use several different sources. Hope this helps.

i also have a mosbys and love it.... were not allowed to use ours in second semester.

I also have Carpenito and never use it. I've never looked into buying a different one so I can't comment. Why don't you go to Borders or Barnes and Noble and sit down with all of them? Much easier to make a decision. I did that with my 2003 drug reference book and it was nice to see it all laid out.
