I had an awesome day today. We are working on a PCU unit and we are usually on the floor at 6:30. Well my patient desided to pull out his foley and I helped the night nurse because he was a mess. So my day started at 6:15. He had an NG tube, a feeding tube, had ulcer repair surgery so he needed dressing changes, restraints posey and wrist, numerous IV meds, heprin injection, and insulin. I worked my butt off and enjoyed every minute of it. He also had a PICC line of which I had not worked with yet. I seen so much in this one patient today than I did all last semester. I did not get off the floor till after 1 pm (we are usually off at noon) and did not have a break. I loved it. I like to keep so busy and before I knew it it was time to go. I love second year!
