Hi guys I need to get some info from fellow molloy nurses students. I am from NJ and I have no idea of the hempstead surrounding. If anyone could give info on how to find a room or any affordable place to live I will dearly appreciated.

Thank you.

Congratulations!

The school is located in Hempstead, but borders Baldwin and Rockville Centre. I would look in those areas. South Hempstead, Baldwin, Rockville Centre...will you have a car? If not there is a bus that goes right by Molloy - if not, Molloy does have a shuttle, but I am not familiar with that schedule. It's pretty expensive to rent here. You might want to check craigslist just to get an idea of what prices are. Molloy does offer dorms now, too.

Thank you love ..

I do have a car what do you think of I rent around Brooklyn.. Would 34 minutes commute be good or bad how is traffic down there.. Thank you again

Congrats on getting accepted into Molloy!!

I will be applying to Molloy for the next admission cycle and I will be finishing up my pre-reqs.

Can you please share your GPA, major, and a little about your experiences with the admission cycle??

Molloy is on my top 5 list and I would truly love to get your insight!

Congrats again!

Thank you love ..

My GPA is not great 3.47 but I am taking my last prerequisite this semester .. Buy I do not think I will go to molloy bc they only offer me 3000 a year that will not be enough ..

I am most likely wii attend Seton Hall university which is in NJ my home town this school is 33,000 a year but the offer 8,000-10,000 a year and I will be qualify for state aide..

Hi,

Thanks for your insight! Congrats in the scholarship as well! I wish you the best in luck in Nursing school!

I saw that Molloy required applicants to take a math test and score like 90% in the reading and math portion... Correct me if I'm wrong.. How did you do? Did you also have a lot of volunteer experience?

Thanks again! :)

While Brooklyn is not very far, the commute can be a bit painful. You'd be taking the belt Pky, which literally always has traffic on it :(. I went to Molloy years ago, and lived in a few different areas during my time there (did my RN-BSN, then MSN). The surrounding area is very pricey, but there are outer-lying areas that are more affordable. You may also want to consider Queens, but more on the southern end (for an easier commute). Or right on the queens/Nassau border is Elmont and Valley Stream, which are much more affordable than Rockville Center.

Also, the Long Island Railroad is not that far from the school. I'm fairly certain that you can get to the train station with a bus from the campus (not a campus bus, but a Nassau County bus).

Thank you for your kind advises .. But I am consideration staying on NJ since I just find a job in a hospital which I really like.. But I am most likely will get into seton hall university .. There retirement is only 3.5 GPA and they let you into the program

Math test is simple. Granted i took it 4 years ago right out of hs so i knew some of the math. Alot of proportions, division, simple things that most forget. Oh and percentages.
