Hi guys,

Studying F/E and am not sure why my brain is not getting this...I know hypotonic solutions draw water from the vessels and into the cells, decreasing intravascular fluid volume....yet I believe it causes increased urine output? I had thought hypertonic solutions would cause increased urination because they draw more fluid into the vessels. Please clarify this for me...it's kinda driving me crazy :lol2:

It does help fluid move that way, but also remember that you are pumping them full of fluid so they naturally produce more urine.

If you drink a liter of water it's going to make you pee more right? Same concept.
