Hello,

I'm about 2/3rds of the way through first semester RN program and thus far have done really well in the class. So far I have roughly a 90% on all tests and quizzes, passed all of the lab check-off's, etc. I've done all of this by studying notes only, I haven't read a chapter in any of the books since week 2. My question, do you think this lack of reading will come back to haunt me when it comes time for the NCLEX exam?

I found that reading gives me in depth knowledge of each topic that we are covering. Its odd that you are doing so well without even opening the book. You must take really good notes! I feel that as long as you are understanding all the material, than you should be fine.

I do all the assigned reading. I don't know a single person in my class that's able to make straight A's without doing the reading either but it depends on the professors and the difficulty of the program, honestly. I do believe not doing the assigned reading will affect your retention of the material, especially when it comes to the cardiovascular system.
