Hi, I'm new to this site , and I have been following a few threads about potential nursing students who were looking to get into the MCC program for this year (2015). Well, I decide to get a 2016 thread going for those individuals, like me, who are getting their few classes finished up to apply next year (2016).

I have a few questions to those who are either currently in the nursing program or those who have already applied for the program. I went up to the south campus yesterday to talk with an advisor in figuring out what classes I need in order to apply for the program for the upcoming year. Well let me tell you, it only took 3 minutes for him to tell me I need to take Intro to Nursing, fill out an application and apply for the hesi test.

I was disappointed because I thought he would've been more informative, "I guess not." So, I know a few people here may know a little more on this process, considering they have made it pass the first step. My question is, I have literally 3 classes left to take but only 1 + the hesi to apply. Now, I was wondering can I apply for the nursing program before taking the test and finishing my pre-req's? Should I send my transcripts over from the other school now, or should I wait? Will the nursing dept contact you when they have all your documents or do you have to call them to make sure they have your documents? This is all new to me and I want to make sure I'm on the right track.

I have taken majority of my classes at WCCCD and I know I will not get full credit because MCC grading scale seems to be different. (e.g. MCC: A+, A, A-) on the otherhand (WCCCD: A, without the +&-). I'm taking Intro to Nursing during the summer (8 weeks) than I will be finish and ready to study for the hesi. Not including those other 2 classes; PHED and HUMN 1700/or PHIL 2000.

Any suggestions, because the only thing I really want to worry about is the hesi, and having my pre-req's sent over in a timely manner. Thanks to all, Tanisha
