Hello I finally started a LPN program and we actually started level one of the program yesterday. It seemed like forever before I got into a nursing school. I wanted to go straight into a RN program but because I had just given birth I didnt want to leave my baby with anyone and I couldnt afford a daycare. so I go to LPN school parttime.. The good thing is is that I finished all my pre-reqs accept Mircobiology.. Will it be easier to get into a RN program after I finish the LPN program because of all the pre-req that I have completed i dont want them to go to waste...:p

I don't know if it will be "easier", but at my school we have an ADN advanced placement program for LPN's. If you've finished all the RN prereq's with acceptable scores AND you become an LPN, I think you'll have an excellent chance of being accepted when you apply to the program.

You might want to check to see if there are any time limits on the credits that you've already earned, especially if you are planning on taking a break after getting your lpn.

Congratulations on starting LPN school and good luck!

At my school the pre-req's for the lpn classes & the rn classes are different. For example...the lpn only requires basic a&p while the rn requires a&p I & II. They do have a lpn to rn bridge program, but you still have to take all of the pre-req's that regular students have to take to get into the rn program. The bridge program allows you to skip the first semester of nursing class though.
