Hey guys. I'm torn between getting certified as a Pharm Tech or EKG/Phlebotomy Tech.

I'm a prenursing student, about to take his HESI next month. I've been studying for this since September so I'm confident I'll get in (3.9gpa too).

I'm currently working part time as a Hospital Service Tech at a hospital in the city but I want to expand my horizons so I'm thinking about taking a quick 6 week Pharm Tech or EKG+Phleb course and get certified while I take my Nursing program courses at my uni. What do you guys think?

I will be honest, if you will be nursing school full time, you will not have time for other studies!!!

I also will add that most hospitals will train you for free to do those jobs, so don't spend the money!!

Depending on your state you don't even need to take the class for Pharmacy Tech if they don't require it for licensure. I just did self study for pharmacy tech (bought a textbook and a PTCB study guide and studied on my own) and took the PTCB exam on my own and was able to be registered/licensed. Finding a job hasn't been to difficult going that path, either.
