This coming Friday is our first year HESI. We're being tested over everything we learned in the past four quarters. (I'm in a 2 year ADN program) We have to get an 850 to pass. I've heard that it doesn't matter if you're an A student or a C student when it comes to this test and that it's pretty hard. I hate the thought of re-taking it, especially paying for a re-take.

We're having 4 days of 4-hour study review sessions with our instructors this week and the test is on Friday. I've been doing NCLEX questions from Saunders. I'm sitting down with my pharm notes next. I'm an A/B+ student. I'll be studying with my study partner this week as well.

How did you prepare/study for HESI?

I actually have a Hesi book with which I studied solely from. I got a 972. Good luck.

I studied the hesi book but only over subject matter that I needed to be refreshed on or stuff that we hadn't covered yet. I really think the only thing beneficial in teh hesi book is the hesi hints...maybe..lol. I think Saunders comprehensive review for the nclex was way better. I used the Saunders cd and you can take tests on specific areas which you are weak in instead of doing on test over everything. That helped alot. I didn't over do it though, either you know it or you don't. Remember to go by the "ivory tower" and not by what actually happens at a hospital. Try to get a good nights sleep and just breath....

Well, I got through about 2/3 of my notes (skimming them). That's about all I had time for. I took HESI today and ended up getting an 1147! I'm so happy that's over, now I get 4 weeks off!! Whew!!! :yeah:
