Has anyone taken A&P where the lab is scheduled right before the lecture?

I just realized I accidentally registered for an A&P course where the lab is scheduled first then the lecture right after. I chose this class because of the time it was offered and because I've heard great things about the professor but I just now realized that the lecture is AFTER the lab! All the other A&P classes are either full or they are with horrible professors. I really need an A or a B in this class so I'm hoping someone can calm my nerves about this!

Do you mean during the same day or week or is it split like the first 8 weeks are lab then the second 8 weeks are lecture? If they're both going on during the same timeframe, it shouldn't matter. The information will mingle somehow.

For fall I signed up for my clinicals on Tues and Wed and lecture is Thurs so the first week, I'll have clinical twice without even attending the class yet! Cant wait to see how that turns out.

Definitely. I had a lab before A&P 2 lecture and it was totally fine. The professor would teach the anatomy in the lab, and since I'm a visual person it helped the physiology portion click once I got into lecture because I was already given a backdrop of the information.

Also to be honest, I preferred the lab before the lecture because it somehow helped the day felt much shorter instead of having to go from a 3 hour lecture to an hour lab. And this is for any lecture/lab class where the lecture would be most likely to drain you first, so you'd just be ready to go home by the time lecture ends.

Yes it's during the same day. Thank you so much. I guess I have to remind myself that they wouldn't offer that class if it wouldn't work out somehow. Good luck with your class/clinical! You will have to let me know how that turns out!

Thank you so so much for this! It makes me feel a whole lot better. I had never heard of it before and I was praying I didn't set myself up for failure

yes it was actually cool. i had a 20 minute break between the two. the classes were great. I was able to get an A in AP 1 AND 2 by doing it that way. the lab allows you to see it and when you go to lecture it usually cover the same topic

I had a lab that was actually the entire day before the lecture. It was a little tough at first mainly because we were dealing with a lot of people trying to add the class and attendance/introductions (first day only) taking quite a bit longer than expected. It worked out nicely because my professor made sure to do a mini lecture for my lab so we were not going in blind and required us to do our part to stay ahead/come prepared. Preview what you will cover before coming to lab.

I did, and it was no problem. I actually prefer lab before lecture.

I don't imagine it'll make much difference. I had my lecture before the lab but I don't think it helped me understand the material any better or worse. Don't sweat it.

Thanks I'll let you know. The toughest part is that the clinical goes until 11PM then I go home to barely sleep and get up for work at 7:30! But its 7 weeks of sacrificing some sleep so I can hang in there. Red bull will be my best friend
