GPA question

Nursing Students General Students

If you don't mind my asking, those of you who were accepted to accelerated BSN programs, what was your overall GPA? Pre-Nursing GPA? I am just curious to know since I plan to apply to an accelerated BSN/MSN program once I get my bachelors in psychology.

3.97 GPA overall, 4.0 pre-nursing

The lowest GPA accepted in the class was around 3.29.This is because the student was accepted another year but postponed starting until now. Ater that it jumps to 3.5 and above. Alot of people applied because the application said 2.8 or above but our school always accepts the highest because we are not on "rolling" admissions. Thousands applied, 73 accepted.

Good luck

I think it depends on the program. I know of some programs that accept people with a GPA in their 1st degree over a 2.8 or last 60 credits over 3.0. Other schools use only your prenursing GPA. I would contact the schools you want to apply and see what they say.

I will say that all schools are going to be competitive in either accepting people with very high GPA's (one school I know of accepted people 3 years ago with a 2.8, the next year 3.2 and this year all applicants had over a 3.5 GPA.) or they will have a long wait list because they are accommodating all qualified applicants that are applying.

My advice for anyone looking at applying to any program is to talk to the advisors as soon as you can.
