Going to nursing school in a different state

I recently moved to Mass, but I am still in school in Ct. When I graduate, I want to get my license in Ma, not Ct. Do I have to get my Ct license and then apply for reciprocity, or can I apply directly for my Ma license? I looked at the Ma nursing website but I am having trouble figuring it out!

You can apply directly to MA for initial licensure -- you don't have to get licensed first (or ever :)) in the state in which you attend school. Just make sure, when you're graduating, to tell your school to send your transcripts/info to MA rather than CT (schools are accustomed to just automatically sending the necessary paperwork on everyone to their own state BON -- but they can send it somewhere else; they just need to know that's what you want them to do).

Look at the MA BON website for info on licensure by examination; all the info and forms you need should be there.
