So my college has Essentials of gen chem (aka gen chem for nurses) plus essentials of o chem.

Then they have just plain Gen Chem I and II, O chem I and II.

I was planning to take the former (essentials) until I discovered the latter. Now are the Essentials/Fundamentals transferable to other nursing programs or do they all want ACTUAL gen chem and o chem?

Problem is if I do ACTUAL gen chem and o chem.... Gen Chem no prob but to do O Chem, they want you to do Gen Chem II as a pre req which to me is overkill and would result in taking longer for me to get to nursing school.

Find the nursing programs you plan on applying to and check their websites for prerequisite course requirements. Most will clearly state what classes they accept, and will have an equivalency list based on local college courses to guide you. Worst case you can call the program's admission office to make sure they would accept the Essentials courses.

You don't want to complete a course based on some random internet post saying "oh yeah, all nursing programs only need that Essentials Chem" only to find out that your dream program doesn't accept it. Ya feel me?
