Fundraising question - did not know where to post this

Hello

So I'm looking into some fundraising things for our nursing class and graduation + other costs.

I was hoping you guys had some ideas of what you would like to see or wish your school offered?

Mainly, I'm looking at anywhere I can order bulk items and cheap....

things like badge clips, water bottles with the school logo, thermos again with logo

we have other ideas as well, but I kind of took charge of these smaller items for some reason...

A bunch of stuff comes up when I do google, but I'm not sure which ones are reliable, so if you have any experience, please chime in!

What about a bake sale, or selling candy bars to the hungry students at school?

The candy bars could be purchased at Costco...

thanks for the input! and well we have other types of fundraisers planned, and tshirt sales are one of them.

but I'm looking for websites or stores that can mass produce these items, such as t-shirts, water bottles, badge clips, and thermos, etc for the things we already have planned.

I don't know which ones are good, reliable, and at lease cheap to reasonably priced, cause the goal is to save more money than we spend.

thanks!

Try local print shops. They may be inclined to offer a reduced price for local business

I liked Teespring for t shirt sales. You pick the design and the minimum goal of sales that you want printed before they make them. The higher the minimum, the lower the cost to you. You design the shirt, pick out the t shirt quality, color choice, and additional styles (fitted, sweatshirt, hoodie, etc). They will tell you your cost to produce them. Once you are done designing the shirt and the price you want to sell them for, it creates a link for customers to go and buy the shirt. They pay Teespring for the shirts. Once the goal is met, they make the shirts. Teespring can ship the shirts to the customer charging them shipping fee or ship all shirts to you for free (you distribute). Teespring sends you a check for the difference between the cost of the shirt and the price you set.

I have spent a year doing this so I hope I have some things I can help you with.

1. Sell water around campus and at campus events. Do you guys do tabling on campus (i.e. promote your nursing org and sell snacks and promote the program)?

2. Shop around for vendors that work with schools and do fundraising. We are working with AllHeart and they cut us a percentage of sales twice a year. They supply whatever we need them to. If we choose to do a fundraising special with a new cohort, they can increase the price of an item (i.e. stethoscope) by a few bucks and we offer it as such and get the difference.

3. Charity events are great for additional fundraising (i.e. doing health fairs for donations from companies doing community outreach). Talk with local businesses and see what they would be interested in.

4. My campus does Chipotle, Jamba Juice, etc. fundraising. We put the word out to people on campus, throw fliers everywhere and get people to show up and those businesses give us a pretty healthy cut of the sales. We do this several times throughout the year.

5. Do Valentine-grams on campus (and don't forget to throw in some AHA preventive tips for heart health month!!).

Finally, and more related to your question....

6. Find someone on campus (like your graphic design dept) and see if they know anyone who does bulk ordering for printing on items like badge clips and water bottles who can cut you a deal. In our situation, we had a former alumnus give us the hook up for what we needed. Search around and see who knows who.

Good luck!!!
